Internet addresses

Every computer on the internet or a network has a number with which it can be identified. It is similar like a telephone number which is also unique. This unique number is called an IP address. Usually companies have their own IP addresses or even whole ranges. Because you have access to the internet through your internet provider you use an IP address that is provided by your internet provider.
